In the early years of 8er production, there were a large variety of upholstery colors/fabrics to choose from BMW's official catalog. By the 1993-94 model years, BMW re-evaluated the upholstery catalog for the 8er and promptly removed underperforming colors.
This upholstery, along with the lighter version (code 0354/M5SD), was offered from initial production through model year 1993. Considered by most enthusiasts to be stunning interior two-tone colors, it was nonetheless not a commercial success for dealers and BMW. For the 1994 model year, BMW simplified and upgraded the interior upholstery offerings for the 8er and these two upholstery colours were dropped.
