Nauticgruen (also spelled as Nauticgrun), was offered as a standard color for the Euro 1990 to 1992 8 Series. It was an unpopular color with BMW dealers and therefore it was dropped for the 1993 model year.
Nautical Green was applied mainly to the M70 850i in LHD, RHD, and 6spd versions. However, two protoype M60 830iA's came in this color in 1992. Reportedly all M60 830i's were destroyed after the prototypes failed to realize commercial value for a small horsepower (BHP) V8 8 Series.
The pictures to the left are an excellent example of Nautical Green provided by Urban Stenberg of Sweden of his rare 1991 BMW 850iA. It was one of two that was produced with the equally rare upholstery Parchment Brazil Nappa leather (code 0357/M5PC).
